Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining quality control systems to ensure compliance with industry, customer, and regulatory requirements (e.g.: AS, MIL-STD, ISO standards…)
- Monitoring production and supplier quality, identifying defects, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions
- Coordinates and conducts inspections of material and finished products, applying appropriate quality assurance sampling and testing requirements. Products include electro-mechanical assemblies, aircraft wire harness assemblies, aircraft kit creation, and circuit card assembly
- Assists with review of contracts for quality clauses and other quality planning criteria
- Develop and maintain documentation such as quality plans, inspection procedures, and quality reports based upon contractual, design, manufacturing, inspection standard, and regulatory testing requirements
- Monitors supplier performance and tabulates supplier scorecard information
- Works with Supply Chain to improve suppliers and administer Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA’s)
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues, process and material improvements, product development, and documentation
- Analyze quality metrics such as defect rates, process capability, and customer feedback
- Member of the MRB team leading root cause analysis, corrective action processes, and coordinate structured problem-solving methods such as 8D
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelors degree in a related field (Quality, Engineering, Math, Industrial, etc.) or Associates degree with related coursework and/or work history
- Proven experience of 3+ years as a quality engineer within an aviation, electro-mechanical, fabrication, connector/cable, or defense industry
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical measuring and software systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship required
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred
- Experience with APQP, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong working knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems (ex. AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or related software
