At our Kelso facility, quality isn’t just a box to tick—it’s the core of our reputation. We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the team, providing the technical oversight and hands-on support needed to keep our manufacturing operations running smoothly and to the highest standards.

The Role

You will be responsible for working across various Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100), giving you the opportunity to broaden your expertise and technical perspective.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Shop Floor: Work closely with operators and production staff to build quality into the process. You’ll provide training and "quality alerts" to ensure everyone is clear on compliance.

  • Customer Liaison: Act as the technical point of contact for customer quality matters, working proactively to reduce returns and supporting site audits.

  • Inspection Strategy: Design and manage control plans for ensuring the conformity of products to supplement the assembly & testing strategy.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Take ownership of Certificates of Compliance, deviation logs, and manufacturing quality history records.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead cross-functional teams to identify waste, improve yields, and solve technical problems using data-driven methods.

The Ideal Candidate Must Possess:

  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: A proactive, self-starter who makes the role their own and is comfortable in the uncomfortable space of challenging the status quo.

  • Strong People & Customer Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to comfortably interact with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

  • Analytical Approach: You’re comfortable using data to find the root cause of an issue rather than just fixing the symptoms.

Experience

Ideally, you will have 2+ years of experience in a similar environment. We are looking for someone with the right mindset—if you have the technical foundation and a proactive attitude, we can help you develop into a Subject Matter Expert.

The Environment

This is a hands-on role based at our Kelso site. You will spend plenty of time on the production floor working with equipment, jigs, and fixtures, as well as time in the office performing data analysis and report writing.

Why you will love it?

At Plexus, we’re at our best when opportunities are met with passion, open communication, and teamwork. Our employees work alongside a global team of experts who engage in projects that span a variety of industries – helping our customers in creating the products that build a better world.
