Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer I works under immediate supervision and uses established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers to ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining effective quality control systems.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends; conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions, halting production when necessary to prevent nonconforming material escape.
- Generate detailed reports on nonconformance, quality trends, and corrective actions; support audits from Defense, Aerospace, and Customer organizations to ensure compliance.
- Lead qualification of product and process changes; review and approve quality documentation including ECOs, MCOs, deviations, and updates to Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Provide technical support for failure analysis, reliability testing, and process capability studies, ensuring processes remain stable and capable.
- Train team members in quality methodologies, sampling procedures, statistical analysis, and analytical techniques to strengthen quality performance across the value stream.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 0-2 years of Quality Engineering experience
- Knowledge: Understands fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program; Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Full color acuity; Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently to meet company standards and deadlines
- Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Eligibility Requirement: FAA sensitive position – may be subject to a government security investigation to verify eligibility for access to classified information
- Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an Aerospace environment or similar manufacturing setting
- ASQC Quality Engineer Certification
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment
- Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
