Job Description:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and processes to ensure products meet customer requirements and company standards. This position analyzes quality data, investigates product and process issues, leads corrective and preventive actions, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing performance. The Quality Engineer works closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to identify opportunities for improvement, reduce defects, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for achieving plant Safety, Food Safety (SQF) standards, ISO standards, and quality goals.
- Responsible for ensuring EHS, plant policies, procedures and rules are followed.
- Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, refinement and continuous improvement of the quality management systems, including Food Safety.
- Responsible for representing the Customer and Quality in the plant.
- Responsible for ensuring, through system audits, that the Quality Management System is executed per the standard.
- Responsible for assisting in developing and ensuring the maintenance of the plant quality records, i.e. inspection and test results, gauge calibration, specifications, CARs, training records, or other records as required by GMP, SQF, or customer requirements.
- Maintains appropriate certification.
- Responsible for various special projects related to Quality Management, TQM, SPC, CIM, etc. as delegated by the Quality Manager.
- Assists in trouble shooting various process issues, working closely with various production personnel and technical functions to problem solve as a team.
- Works with Customers, plant personnel, and corporate support to solve quality problems and concerns.
- Works with suppliers to continuously improve their processes and give the suppliers feedback regarding their quality performance to drive improvement (Vendor CAR Database).
- Assists in the development and maintenance of Quality Control Plans and Quality Standards.
- Ensures timely root cause and corrective action responses to the customer with quality, food safety issues, and concerns.
- Verifies that corrective actions are completed on time and are suitable and effective.
- Ensures that the training and development of plant personnel is maintained.
- Actively involved in the CQV process as well as mold/equipment transfer processes.
- Responsible for overseeing cGMP requirements are being followed.
- Performs other activities as required.

Educational and Other Skill RequirementsEducational and Other Skills Requirements:
- 3 – 5 years of progressive Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Preferred)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) (Preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (Preferred)
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working with customer quality requirements and supplier quality management.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, PPAP, APQP, and other quality tools. (Preferred)
- Experience in food manufacturing (Preferred)
Skills Required
- 3–5 years of progressive quality management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
