Description
Coordinate all quality systems throughout the company to ensure that our products conform to company and customer quality standards and meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. Responsible for coordinating the development of the quality system continuous improvement activities Assures that the facility maintains ISO 9001/AS9100 certification. Plan, coordinate and implement new products and modifications to current products, equipment and processes.
Requirements
Essential Job Duties:
- Maintain an ISO/AS based quality system that ensures customer requirements are adhered to on a consistent basis.
- Assist in developing plans for providing employees with the necessary training to perform assigned plant functions and facilitate their understanding of the quality system.
- Correspond with customers and suppliers on all issues regarding quality.
- Ensure management is kept current on issues that impact on the quality system.
- Review new technologies for application in manufacturing processes and prepare analyses for capital expenditures.
- Lead cost reduction efforts in manufacturing.
- Maintain Manufacturing routing structures and update whenever necessary.
- Assist in the resolution of customer complaints (internal and external) and issues by maintaining a corrective action system.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and communicate quality systems information to all employees.
- Assist manufacturing in daily shop floor functions as required by quality assurance procedures.
- Administer the internal audit process.
- Monitor gage calibration system.
- Administer the document and data control process.
- Assist manufacturing in new/improved manufacturing processes.
- Structure all new product Quality Plans.
- Assist in accountability of manufacturing tooling.
- Review and recommend changes to all elements of the Quality Manual.
- Coordinate with company quality assurance personnel to promote understanding and to ensure compliance with stated requirements.
- Serve as facility "point of contact" for matters pertaining to ISO/AS compliance.
- Contact with customers and suppliers at their facilities.
- Conduct supplier evaluations in coordination with appropriate personnel.
- Provide responses to customer surveys in a timely manner.
- Assist engineering, marketing, customer service departments with special projects such as cost estimating, product design ideas from a quality perspective.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in technical or engineering discipline.
- Training as an ISO 9000/AS9100 Lead or Internal Auditor.
- Five years - Supervisory position in a manufacturing environment
- Three years - Management experience in a quality assurance discipline and varied manufacturing engineering functions.

Skills Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in a technical or engineering discipline
- Training as an ISO 9000 or AS9100 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor

- Three years of management experience in quality assurance and varied manufacturing engineering functions
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple tasks
