The Role

GENERAL SUMMARY
Perform quality control receiving inspections of purchased equipment, parts, and materials to verify compliance with the stations quality assurance program, purchasing documents, Codes, standards and regulatory requirements for acceptance and use. Support receiving inspection during scheduled outages, unplanned plant outages and call-outs.
Perform independent supplier surveillance activities to support the procurement of products and services that affect safety-related or augmented quality. Conduct supplier surveillances as required by station request and Vendor Inspection Plans (VIPs) for critical plant equipment and services. The person in this position will interface with Supply Chain Services, Procurement Engineering and suppliers. This position is required by regulation and is necessary to ensure safety-related items and services procured meet applicable quality requirements and are not degraded at the time of receipt.
Travel for this position is approximately 15% annually.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Perform receiving inspection for compliance with specifications using inspection tools, drawings, inspection procedures, and prior knowledge of fabrication methods to evaluate acceptance, or if deficiencies are present in systems, structures, assemblies, or parts by interpreting inspection acceptance/rejection criteria to identify discrepancies and nonconformance. Interpretation and judgment of the acceptance/rejection of an item is based on training, experience, and a review of the work against the written requirements.
2. Conduct surveillances and observations, and submit reports and recommendations. This includes: installations or repairs of removed, disassembled, repaired, and assembled equipment; installation of structures, systems, and associated components to ensure conformance to specified requirements. Analyze data from surveillances and observations of work activities and documentation to identify problems. Summarize data and major points and submit reports to management for review and action. Maintain files, charts, and status reports on progress of inspections and documentation. Assemble pertinent information and materials necessary to effectively accomplish planning, scheduling, inspections, and reporting of surveillance results.
3. Assist in developing new procedural controls to address the quality control receiving inspection aspects of the Quality Assurance Program. Assist in the development of inspection, examination, and testing procedures to accomplish the inspection, examination, and test objectives. Maintain department procedures, manuals, instructions, and qualifications/certifications current.
4. Outage support and call-out duties, as necessary.
Perform other duties as requested.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The following minimum education and experience requirements shall be met for qualification in each category as specified in ANSI N45.2.6-1978 and Regulatory Guide 1.58, Rev. 1, September 1980:
1. One year of satisfactory performance as Level I in corresponding inspection, examination, test category, or class.
2. At least one of the following:
a. High school diploma or GED plus three years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities.
b. An Associate’s degree in related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university plus one year of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities.
c. A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university and six months of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities.

PAY RANGE$92,750.00 - $139,124.00 Annual

Midpoint:

$115,937.00

This position is salary, non-exempt in which the successful candidate would receive overtime for any hours worked over 40 hours in a pay week. The salary would be offered within the range stated above.

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

INCENTIVE COMPENSATION

This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
