NAC is currently seeking a full-time Quality Coordinator (Junior), initially based on our Dalewood Water Reclamation Facility project in St. Thomas, ON.

Position Summary

Reporting to the HSEQ Director, the Quality Coordinator will provide quality support and coordination to the project management and site teams. This is a field-focused position responsible for supporting quality control activities, inspections, testing, documentation and follow-up on active construction projects.

The Quality Coordinator will work closely with the project management team members to help ensure construction activities and materials meet project drawings, specifications, approved shop drawings, contracts and applicable codes and standards.

This is a support and coordination role. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a new graduate or junior construction professional to develop practical, hands-on experience in construction quality management.


Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the implementation of NAC's Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes on active construction projects.
  • Working with project management team members.
  • Supporting quality control activities on active construction projects.
  • Familiar with working on large scale construction sites. 
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, contracts and approved shop drawings.
  • Familiarity with civil, mechanical and electrical construction activities.
  • Completing field inspections and documenting construction deficiencies.
  • Coordinating material testing, including concrete, soil compaction, etc.
  • Reviewing material receiving documentation, certificates of compliance and record keeping.
  • Tracking non-conformance reports, deficiencies, corrective actions and closeout items.
  • Working with project management team members and being a support staff.
  • Participating in preparatory meetings and quality inspections. 

Requirements:

     
  • New graduate s are encouraged to apply
  • Understanding of construction quality assurance and quality control principles. 
  • Working in the field focused for a proactive quality mindset is a must. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify work that does not meet project requirements.
  • Effective field inspection, observation and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear inspection reports.
  • Strong organizational and document control skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore
  • Ability to work independently while still maintaining clear, effective communication to other project team members is a must.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management principles would be an asset.
  • Understanding how to navigate CSA, and other industry standards.
