The Production training and Quality control coordinator is responsible for coordinating training of the production team (New and existing employees) and performing quality control activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, the development and execution of the training classes, certifying candidates based on company standards, developing and implementing quality control processes, conducting inspections, identifying defects, and recommending improvements. To perform proper job function, this position relies on instruction and pre-established guidelines from the Director of Operations.  This position adheres to and practices core values of own-it, passion, honesty, and respect in every facet of the position.

Reports To: Production Manager

Essential Functions:

• Communicating with managers to identify production training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals.
• Responsible for managing, designing, developing, coordinating, and conducting all production training programs.
• Map out annual training plans for management and HR.
• Design and develop production training programs (outsourced and/or in-house)
• Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes).
• Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials.
• Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
• Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
• Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
• Research and recommend new training methods.
• Coordinate and direct regular audits for the day and night shift quality control team.
• Complete monthly and/or yearly inspections from SBCA, county and state agencies.
• Ensure quality measures are met for the department.
• Complete required inspections throughout the manufacturing process including receiving, production, packaging, storage, and shipping.
• Record measurements and other critical data in appropriate manner
• Identify Quality Control requirements and ensure operations remain within acceptable tolerances.
• Assess non-conformances in the workplace and recommend solution(s) to proper personnel and management
• Track errors in quality and occurrences and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Prepare daily quality reports.
• Resolve quality related issues adhering to deadlines.
• Identify and react to training opportunities. Monitor root cause and implement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Coordinate with counterpart in other Plants to remain consistent throughout the organization.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills
    • Previous experience in manufacturing and production processes
    • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodology
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, time-management, and leadership skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong leadership skills

    Education
    • At least 3 years of related experience in manufacturing and production required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent

    Work Environment / Physical Demands
    • Operates in a manufacturing plant/production site requiring the use of PPE
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking throughout the Plant and sitting.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
    • This is a full-time exempt salaried position.

    Travel
    • Periodic travel between the company’s Plant locations.

    Skills Required
