Job Summary

The Quality Control Tech is responsible for quality assurance associated tasks with Adams Bros. Concrete Products business lines. The primary task of a Quality Control Tech is to create and maintain professional relationships with clients daily.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for all existing and new customer sales relations for Adams Bros Concrete Products.
  • Ability to differentiate between aggregates, grades, sizes, and textures of materials.
  • Provide quality control assistance on jobsites and understand all quality control testing procedures when needed.
  • Must become ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade 1 within 1 year.
  • Sampling and Testing -collecting concrete samples according to standards (ACI, ASTM) and preform test on concrete like: slump, air, and making cylinders for compressive strength
  • Maintain logs of test results for the field
  • Ensure concrete mixes, components are suitable for job site
  • Assisting in identifying and resolving concrete-related issues and help implement corrective actions
  • Collaborating with team and customer to ensure quality control solutions
  • Conduct daily pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections then communicate and define deficiencies to shop immediately.
  • Report improper operation, faulty equipment and unusual conditions to the Operations Manager of Concrete utilizing the proper vehicle inspection report paperwork.
  • Maintain telephone or radio contact with dispatch to receive and assist in additional instructions and changes to work locations, site conditions, weather, etc.
  • Maintains cognitive awareness of immediate surroundings, ensuring that power lines, trees, soft ground conditions and ingress/egress locations are accounted for as maneuvering and unloading of materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Responsible to comply with all hand signals and movements from coworkers safely and thoroughly, keeping eye contact when backing up and unloading materials.
  • Ensures that all Company personnel follow all safety procedures and processes including the proper use of safety equipment.
  • Answer calls after hours and weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to carry 75+ lbs.
  • All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to light yard duties.

  • 2 years of construction experience required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Education Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Safety

Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

Travel

Travel to job sites is required as needed.
