ABOUT THE ROLE

The QC Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership to the Quality Control and Batch Plant team, ensuring production meets quality standards and PCI certification requirements. This role partners closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to maintain compliance, improve processes, and support efficient, high-quality output across the plant.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support the Quality Control Manager in maintaining PCI certifications, calibrations, and compliance standards
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to specifications
  • Supervise and support QC technicians and batch plant employees, including scheduling and issue resolution
  • Promote a safe work environment and reinforce safety policies and practices
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management to resolve quality-related issues
  • Partner with Batch Plant operations to ensure consistent concrete quality and mix performance
  • Assist with mix design development and testing alongside the QC Manager
  • Oversee sample and mock-up production to ensure quality expectations are met
  • Train, coach, and develop QC employees and batch plant employees on processes and best practices
  • Allocate QC team resources effectively to maximize efficiency and coverage
  • Lead, manage, and hold QC team members and batch plant employees accountable for performance and results
  • Support recruiting efforts and complete additional duties or special projects as needed

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in quality control within a manufacturing or precast environment. They are organized, proactive, and capable of balancing team leadership with technical quality oversight. This individual is a strong communicator who can work cross-functionally, solve problems quickly, and drive both quality and efficiency. They take ownership of team performance, prioritize safety, and are committed to continuous improvement and maintaining high industry standards.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2–3 years of experience in precast concrete
  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain PCI Level II certification within 2 years of hire
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and develop employees
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to organize people, schedules, and equipment for efficient production
  • Understanding of production processes and quality standards
  • Adaptability and willingness to support continuous improvement initiatives

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
