Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Quality Control Specialist, you are part of a small team of resident experts on finished goods quality control standards and processes. You work closely with local and overseas Quality specialists and to develop, implement, and monitor the most effective and efficient finished goods quality control processes. Your expertise enables us to maintain our product and brand integrity by upholding the highest quality standards in technical apparel production.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Meet Your Future Team:
You will be working on a cross-functional team of experts responsible for the quality control, assurance, and compliance of our raw materials and finished goods. Our local QC Team interfaces heavily with the Hong-Kong based Sourcing and Quality teams, and you will have the opportunity to partner directly with these teams to achieve quality finished goods that meet the highest quality standards in technical apparel product.
If you were the Quality Control Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Developing innovative QC processes by working directly with our local and overseas Quality Team to establish standardized methods of inspection and process control
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams by offering your expertise in best practices and knowledge of products and standards
- Performing time-studies to gather data on QC in/efficiencies
- Investigating quality failures, performing root cause analysis and working with QPMs to implement corrective action plans
- Managing inspection processes domestically and overseas through our inspection platform
- Creating inspection workflows to optimize individual QC efficiencies for specific product types and factories
- Partnering with local and overseas QC Managers to develop intelligent inspection planning to optimize QC efficiency
- Working with the other QC Specialists, Quality Data Specialist and QC Manager to understand the elements of product quality that have the greatest impact on customer satisfaction
- Partnering with Product Development and Product Integrity, as well as our overseas factories to create inspection plans specific to new and existing product types
- Visiting overseas factories and performing Quality Control and process audits
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
- Working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually)
- Adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy

- Partnering with Technical Specialist and PDs to help create model-level quality risk mitigation plans
- Leading Quality control visits to underperforming factories
- Creating new processes and standards according to the evolving needs of the business
Are you our next Quality Control Specialist?
- You have 2+ years’ experience quality control, ideally in the apparel or manufacturing industry
- You have formal training in quality control methods and best practices
- You have direct experience auditing production facilities quality processes
- You have experience in garment development and production
- You have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- You are able to balance and focus on multiple, overlapping priorities and deadlines without losing sight of the big picture
- You have strong verbal and written English communication skills
- You have good problem solving skills and the grit to persevere through challenging issues
