Duties and Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing & Analysis
● Conduct laboratory analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples, and finished products in accordance with approved test methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
● Perform physical, chemical, and where applicable, analytical tests on agrochemical products.
● Verify that test results comply with approved product specifications before reporting.
● Conduct routine laboratory testing of formulated products before release to packing lines for packaging.
● Collect representative samples of raw materials, packaging materials, intermediates, and finished products in accordance with approved sampling procedures.
● Perform visual inspections of incoming materials and finished products.
● Inspect plastic bottles, caps, labels, cartons, and other packaging materials for compliance with approved specifications.
● Monitor product appearance, colour, consistency, packaging integrity, coding, and labeling during routine inspections.
● Conduct in-process inspections and sampling during formulation, filling, capping, coding, sealing, labeling, and packaging operations.
● Verify that critical product characteristics remain within approved specifications.
● Report any abnormal results or deviations observed during production.
● Support Production and Quality Assurance in resolving product quality non conformance
● Operate laboratory equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
● Ensure laboratory instruments are clean, calibrated, and fit for use.
● Report equipment malfunction or calibration issues promptly.
● Maintain laboratory equipment logs and usage records.
● Record laboratory results accurately in laboratory worksheets, logbooks, and electronic systems.
● Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) where applicable.
● Maintain complete laboratory records and sample traceability.
● Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory reports.
● Ensure laboratory documentation complies with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
● Identify and report raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products that fail to meet specifications.
● Segregate and clearly identify rejected or non-conforming samples as instructed.
● Participate in investigations relating to Out-of-Specification (OOS) laboratory results.
● Assist in product quality investigations by providing laboratory findings. 
● Provide laboratory support during production trials and validation batches.
● Support evaluation of new raw materials and packaging materials through laboratory testing.
● Work closely with Production and Formulation teams to provide timely laboratory results.
● Assist in resolving quality issues affecting manufacturing operations.
● Monitor stock levels of laboratory reagents, chemicals, consumables, and glassware.
● Report shortages of laboratory materials promptly.
● Ensure laboratory cleanliness and proper housekeeping at all times.
● Ensure proper storage and disposal of laboratory chemicals and retained samples.
● Perform quality testing in accordance with approved specifications and test methods.
● Ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity of laboratory data.
● Maintain traceability of samples and laboratory records.
● Verify conformity of raw materials, packaging materials, intermediates, and finished products.
● Support internal quality audits relating to laboratory activities.
● Comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
● Comply with all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
● Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while carrying out laboratory and inspection activities.
● Handle chemicals, reagents, and laboratory equipment safely.
● Report laboratory hazards, chemical spills, damaged equipment, and unsafe conditions immediately.
● Ensure proper segregation and disposal of laboratory waste.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

Requirements
● Bachelor Degree or HND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, or a related science discipline.
● Minimum of 2–4 years experience in Quality Control or Laboratory Operations within a manufacturing environment.
● Experience in agrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or industrial manufacturing is an added advantage.
● Hands-on experience in laboratory testing and analytical techniques is preferred.
