The Quality Manager position leads Quality Team located in Santa Clara and Sunnyvale, CA. This role oversees the Quality function for the Santa Clara manufacturing site and Development & QC Testing conducted in Sunnyvale.  The Quality Manager ensures compliance with internal process/product specifications, customer specifications, and Solstice policies. 

This position defines, deploys, and assesses effective implementation of the ISO9000-based Quality Management System for the sites, and is responsible for supporting any other current / future site certifications. The ideal candidate is well-versed in Quality and Lean Six Sigma tools, such as: Problem Solving, Process & Product Controls, Measurement Systems, Calibration, Lean Manufacturing, Statistics and other applicable quality concepts. The candidate makes data-based decisions using industry experience.

Responsibilities
  • Below are some of the job requirements, however, there may be other responsibilities/actions assigned to this role at a later point in time based on departmental, operational, and customer demand.   
  • Build and deploys an effective Quality program that focuses on improved internal & external Quality.  Ensures that product meets all Customer, Solstice, and regulatory requirements for materials manufactured at this facility, regardless of final shipping location.
  • Ensures products manufactured are of high Quality and meet all Customer & Solstice requirements while supporting all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manages, improves, and expands the Quality Management Systems internally & externally with key suppliers/tollers/distribution warehouses. Includes adherence to Customer Specific Requirements, where applicable, while the QMS approach must comply with and support the Solstice Quality Management System. 
  • Improves Operational Excellence using Lean Six Sigma and Digital tools while supporting the development and execution of these tools. 
  • Leads, mentors, and develops assigned personnel. Work with and support colleagues across all functions within Solstice. Works closely with Solstice Quality Team, HSE, Manufacturing, Engineering, and all associated business support teams.
  • Develops and executes measurement systems in alignment with industry expectations.
  • Deploys an effective audit plan for sites, tollers/suppliers, and distribution warehouses, where activities apply, and potentially support other Solstice sites. 
  • Drives Customer Corrective actions via the 8D tool, and close open customer cases as per agreed time schedules. 
  • Facilitate improvements in First Pass Quality, COPQ, and other relevant program metrics.
  • Ensure sites effectively act on internal and external quality defects.  Facilitate problem solving projects using LSS tools when needed.
  • Improves quality management and data collection systems in compliance with Solstice requirements.
  • Drives the use of quality tools such as SPC, SQC and other relevant proactive tools to maintain process control.
  • Manage continuous improvements via Kaizen Events, Six Sigma Projects, Quality Improvement Teams.  Ensuring systematic actions are taken in the form of DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, etc.
  • Be an organizational leader championing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Management.
  • Actively involved in Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Strategic Plan (STRAP), Monthly Operating Review (MOR), Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP)
  • Support management resource reviews for the LOB Quality function.
Qualifications

You Must Have:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 5+ years of Quality Management Experience in Manufacturing Environments. Experience must include managing Customer and Supplier/Toller relationships.  Also to include experience in site Quality management and registration-based internal, external auditing.  
  • Experience sustaining and improving ISO9001-based systems. 
  • Must have skills to develop and deploy systems in alignment with new or updated QMS standards. 
  • Proven skills as capable people leader.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PAY RANGE 

The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 - 165,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
