Otto International is looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager. In this role ,you will ensure that the quality of goods meet the requirements of customer and ensure inspector has sufficient information to conduct inspection, monitor vendor / manufacturer’s quality performance and give them advice and instructions, when necessary, on how to improve and maintain quality level, provide technical support to merchandiser in order to increase potential business as well as to balance delivery risks.
 

How will you make a difference?

  • Manage daily inspection work of QC team
  • Advise merchandising and QA teams, as well as suppliers, on changes on customer quality standards
  • Devise and maintain quality assurance standards and quality control system to minimise rejection and claim rates, as well as achieve a consistent quality standard, whilst adhering to delivery KPIs
  • Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to product quality, whilst giving professional advice in all areas of quality control and claim related.
  • Evaluate existing and new vendors on various performance tracking aspects and recommend corrective actions and/or training to ensure quality standards are met
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the quality management systems of vendors, recommend improvements when required, and advise on upgrading systems and machinery
  • Supervise the teams’ engagement in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity
  • Responsible for championing the OI anti-corruption guidelines across the business so that all potential risk areas are minimised
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising and QA management to ensure operational excellence
  • Plan team development and be responsible for career & succession planning
  • Provide guidance and monitor the performance of QC team

Who are we looking for?

  • At least 10 years’ experience in garment or textile industry with a minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Knowledgeable in garment production
  • Good problem-solving mindset and skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Good communication skills
  • Good planning and analysing skills
