The Quality Control Lead will report to the Quality Control Supervisor.
Job Summary
The Quality Control Lead will inspect panels and enclosures throughout the production process as they go through the different departments of Electrical Power Products, Inc. These departments include steel, paint, mounting, wiring, enclosures, and shipping. The Quality Control Lead will oversee the training and production of Quality Control Inspectors within the Quality Assurance Department.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Implement quality control policies and procedures.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure panels and equipment meet the customer’s bill of materials and quality standards.
- Document deficiencies and errors and confirm corrections.
- Strive to keep quality control hours within company standards.
- Train employees for multiple departments and empower them to present ideas to improve the company’s quality commitments.
- Contribute and implement ideas to correct mistakes and variations
- Emphasize and enforce safety procedures.
- Relocate quality control resources daily to ensure all departments have adequate coverage to maintain productivity.
- Recommend and implement disciplinary actions.
- Operate a manual hydraulic pallet jack.
Lead Responsibilities:
- Lead the work assignment of Quality Control Inspectors.
- Meets department strategic and tactical goals and helps manage all key department metrics.
- Grows team capability through training, and development.
- Focus on “best in industry” results and continual improvement.
- Ongoing assessment and improvement of department tools, software and equipment.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College degree preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and exploded-view drawings.
- Experience using hand tools.
- Exercise common sense when making decisions.
- Working knowledge and experience with tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Well versed in a tape measure; preferably able to read 1/8 of inch.
Physical Requirements
- Continuous speaking, hearing, and visual (including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus) effort.
- Frequent standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and handling.
- Commonly lifting/moving of up to 40 lbs. individually.
- Occasionally lifting/moving 50-100 lbs. with assistance.
- Exposure to loud noises, drilling, cutting, banging, and typical manufacturing production physical hazards.
Skills Required
