The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact 

1. You will develop, implement, and maintain robust process control plans to ensure consistent product quality across all manufacturing stages, from raw material input to final product assembly.

2. You will lead root cause analysis investigations for process-related quality issues, using tools such as 5-Why, fishbone diagrams, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).

3. You will conduct regular quality data analysis (e.g., defect rates, customer complaints, process variation) to identify quality gaps and improvement opportunities and develop targeted improvement plans.

4. You will conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes, equipment, and workstations to verify compliance with established quality standards, operating procedures, and safety regulations.

5. You will initiate and implement quality improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA) to reduce process variation, waste, and non-conformance rates.

6. You will be handling customer quality complaints, including receiving feedback, conducting RCA, 8D report and CPAP follow-up.

7. You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).

2.  2+ years of experience in quality engineering, process improvement, or a related role, preferably in [specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, automotive].

3.  Experience with quality management tools and methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred), SPC, MSA, FMEA, CP and SPC.

4.  Strong data analysis skills, with experience using software such as Excel, Minitab. 

5. Knowledge of industry-specific quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).   

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.   

7. Fluent in English, both spoken and written is mandatory in this position.
