Quality Specialist

to join our Ashland Specialty Additives QC laboratory at our Zwijndrecht location. At the QC laboratory we test whether raw materials, intermediate products, and finished products meet established quality requirements. We use wet chemical, physical, and analytical methods for this purpose. In addition, the laboratory performs routine checks on fluid flows in the production process. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Specialty Additives Business Unit. This position will report to the QA/QC Manager.  

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performing and reporting on analyses, specifically for the regulated industry.
  • Maintaining and implementing (new) equipment and methods.
  • Validating analytical equipment and methods.
  • Supporting the shift team in performing analyses.
  • Complying with GMP and GLP guidelines.
  • Keeping analysis procedures up to date, in both Dutch and English.
  • Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety
  • Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others

In order to be qualified for this role you must possess the following:

  • A completed HLO degree (chemical analysis), or a demonstrably equivalent level of education.
  • Knowledge of and experience with standard quality control procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of procedures and method descriptions in various pharmacopoeias.
  • A desire to contribute to ensuring the quality of our end products.
  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
  • The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different.
  • Experience with setting up and performing validation analyses and analysis validation.
  • Processing and statistically evaluating analytical data.
  • Training laboratory technicians on revised analytical methods.
  • Fluently in Dutch
