Under close supervision, conducts internal quality controls to ensure established quality procedures and norms are followed. Conducts routine quality analysis and tests/inspections of a quality control program, where duties and tasks are standardized. Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Prepares standard quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedure changes. Records and analyzes customer claims. Learning role with 1 to 2 years of experience.- Auditing of Facilities to meet Regulatory Requirements
- Create and offer support with Correction Actions/ Preventative Actions (CAPA)
- Guidance to help solve regulatory and facility issues.
- Support of the Quality Assurance Program
- Technical support for Special Processes, such as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Linings and Coatings, Service Equipment, Welding, Air Brakes, etc.
- Participates in and actively supports quality projects, activities, and Responsible Care initiatives to ensure that the Company achieves its goals.
- Meet the requirements for Marmon Rail Auditor’s certification and to attend a Certified AAR Auditor’s Program seminar.
- Demonstrate clear and professional written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving & continuous improvement.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Computer proficient with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to enter tank cars via a manway opening approximately 18 – 20 inches wide and tolerate confined spaces.
- Climb ladders to heights of approximately 14 feet high, bend, stoop, stretch, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. to set up tables and to attach to tank cars.
- Willingness and ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to: safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, ear plugs, harnesses and respirators.
- Have keen visual and audio acuity to recognize various shop danger warning signals to avoid injuries and promote a safe working environment.
- Ability and availability with heavy amounts of travel, up to 75% of the time including outside of the United States and working overtime hours may often be required.
- Associate’s Degree in relevant field is beneficial.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience.
- Technical proficiency in NDT, and/or Special Processes such as Linings and Coatings, Service Equipment, Welding, Air Brakes, etc.
- Certified as an Internal Auditor
- Experience in the rail or manufacturing industry is beneficial.
