Position Summary: Develop, implement and oversee quality assurance and regulatory compliance strategies with regard to program-related licensing standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement and oversee quality assurance and regulatory compliance strategies by Department with regard to established licensing regulations as they pertain respectively.
  2. Initiate development of standard operating procedures for monitoring and auditing of program performance by department.
  3. Lead the design of monitoring programs to ensure Consumer progress and safety.
  4. Identify training and educational needs regarding departmental personnel and make recommendations.
  5. Develop and monitor programs to ensure compliance with (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) HIPAA regulations and OPWDD, or other applicable funding entities regulations.
  6. Identify and rank areas at risk of non-compliance and recommend strategies to address such issues.
  7. Develop systems and relationships to support auditing activities in collaboration with the compliance officer; organize panels of experts to assist in reviews and analysis.
  8. Identify and report general compliance issues that may arise through the work process; write and revise standard operating procedures.
  9. Review technical publications, articles and abstracts to stay abreast of current regulations and trends, ensure appropriate actions are taken to incorporate necessary revision into workplace environment.
  10. Develop monthly progress reports by department, add comparisons by previous monthly report and submit to the Executive Director by the first of the following month.
  11. Consumer Incidents: manage, and oversee appropriate documentation, report to oversight agencies as required, incidents, and conduct monthly incident review committee meetings, and filing.
  12. Ensure presence on-site during program licensing audits, obtain information for auditors as requested, and attend exit conferences.
  13. Answer audit deficiencies, write Plan of Corrective Action, and ensure program compliance to such plans.
  14. Research state regulations and compliance guidelines; and knowledgeable in best practices. D
  15. Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting, audits, and project summaries. 
  16. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Qualifications

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Possesses at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program and have at least 6 years of related work experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 of the required experience.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program
  • At least 6 years of related work experience
  • Master's degree in a related field (may substitute for 2 years of required experience)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and OPWDD or applicable funding entity regulations
  • Experience developing and implementing SOPs, monitoring programs, and auditing processes
  • Experience managing consumer incident documentation, reporting, and incident review committees
  • Ability to write Plans of Corrective Action and respond to audit deficiencies
  • Experience preparing compliance reports and presenting to executive leadership
