Job Description:
General Purpose of Job
- Ensures that manufactured Products are meeting Business Needs, Quality standards and Customer Expectations.
- Develops and coaches QC team associates.
- Defines documents and implements QMS for all manufactured products.
- Manages SAP QM Module inputs and reporting.
- Responding to and managing Customer Complaints by investigation and implementing countermeasures for corrective and preventive measures.
- Coordinates internally with technical development for smooth transition to commercial production.
- Act as a single point contact for all QMS initiatives.
- Supporting in new Raw Material purchase, Quality confirmation and testing of RM on regular basis.
Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities
Ensure all the EHS standards and local legislation is strictly complied within the QA/QC labs, also by acting as internal trainer towards associates. Act as a support for all matters to be coordinated with the Pollution control Board. Leads and manages a team to achieve valuable results. Ensures full compliance with the Huntsman Ethics and Compliance policies. Maintaining quality standards for incoming materials, ensuring stringent adherence to quality standards & identifying gaps and taking corrective action. Ensuring adherence to quality standards, implementing stringent quality control systems and reduce rejection level & rework. Actively involved in implementing & executive various quality improvement projects on various quality systems. Conducting rejection analysis & implementing/suggesting improvements for reducing rejections. Conducting vendor audits Review of formulations and specifications. Redressal Of Customer Complaints Determine new quality parameters, tools and techniques to improve the Quality Assurance standards and the quality issues prevention. Provide support to Account Managers and Technical team cooperating in customer assistance in case of quality issues. Indentify the issues origin and cause and propose the best corrective and preventive action to win back the customer confidence Identification of cause for problem could be either by Why-Why analysis with usage of suitable statistical tools. Set-up, coordinate and monitor re-work strategies for rejected material which minimize cost and waste. Initiate necessary actions as per the Quality Management guidelines. Management Representative for ISO 9001:2008 QMS Lead & implement QMS initiatives like TS 16949. Manage the QA/QC laboratory purchasing process in line with budget. Compiles and coordinates monthly reports for QA/QC performance, also leads and coordinates on Slow moving and obsolete material liquidation. Coordinates closely with the European regional QA/QC and incorporates standard practices as well as improvements from learning’s from other similar sites.
Other general responsibilities:
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company
- Participates regularly in Meetings of all Production / Site /Business Functions to understand their needs and operational processes
- Performs any special tasks as may be assigned by the management
- Participates in and completes company-required training programs
Education / Experience
- Graduate in Chemical Engineering, preferably with 5/6 years or MSC with 9/10 years relevant PU experience and exposure to the market place.
- Experience in relevant fields such as chemical industry, pharmaceutical.
- Strong organizational skills and experience.
Skills and Knowledge
- PU chemistry Knowledge. Highest level of detailed quality knowledge, expertise in both quality management business processes and product chemistry
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
- Proficiency with Lotus Notes Database system is required
- SAP QM Module.
- Knowledge of methodology and statistical techniques
- ISO 9001, TS 16949, other QMS tools.
