Quality Assurance Operations Team Lead
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Jewelry QA Team Lead to oversee and guide the Quality Assurance (QA) team in ensuring that all jewelry products meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. This role will involve managing QA processes, conducting inspections, troubleshooting quality issues, and implementing best practices to ensure product consistency and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, an eye for detail, and a deep understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes.
What you'll do
- Oversee Returns QA team in their daily tasks, distributing work evenly to each member and assist where required
- Support team with verifying quality of products and independently identifying product defects and discrepancies
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the QA team, providing guidance and support in all aspects of the quality control process
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team performance.
- Supervise the inspection of jewelry for defects, including visual, dimensional, and functional tests, ensuring adherence to Mejuri quality standards and brand specifications.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to analyse defect type trends and report for further product quality inspection
- Conduct regular audits to ensure product quality consistency is aligned as per Mejuri quality regulations and standards
- Build weekly and monthly defect type reports
- Work with the outbound team to audit packaging standards and report discrepancies
- Provide training and/or coaching as needed to Returns QA Associates
- Observes and support all safety guidelines and requirements
- Travel to Toronto for regular QC training and advanced learning opportunities

What you'll bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Jewelry Design, Materials Science, or Engineering) or equivalent experience in jewelry manufacturing and quality assurance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or quality control in the jewelry industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of jewelry production processes, materials, and standards.Familiarity with industry certifications and standards, such as ISO 9001, GIA, or other jewelry quality frameworks
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in QA tools, software, and reporting systems.Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Experience with CAD systems or jewelry design software is considered an asset
- Knowledge of advanced testing techniques and equipment for jewelry quality inspection.
