Position Summary
The Quality Manager leads the Quality Department and oversees the Quality Management System (QMS) for our metals manufacturing facility in Columbia City, Indiana. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, maintaining ISO 9001 compliance, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting manufacturing process improvements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the Quality Department and maintain the site's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Lead root cause investigations using 8D methodology and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze quality data using Minitab and other statistical tools.
- Manage customer complaints, internal and external audits, and quality documentation.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Production to improve quality performance.
- Develop and monitor quality metrics and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and develop quality team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- 3–5 years of metallurgical or quality management experience.
- Experience with copper metallurgy.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 8D problem-solving methodology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Minitab.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
- CQE or CQM certification.
- Experience with IATF 16949 and/or AS9100.
- Supervisory and audit experience.
