About the team
QCS is responsible for assuring the quality of operational activities (such as bids, projects, products and services) and supporting the maturity growth and performance improvement of the organisation. We do this to improve customer satisfaction and to drive competitiveness. QCS enhances the ownership of operational teams for the quality of their output and strengthens the learning, improvement and problem-solving capabilities of these teams. QCS develops the maturity of the organisation as a whole by leveraging operational best practices. QCS is responsible to provide an independent view on operational performance to senior management.
About your future job
As a QAM, you will contribute in the development of high-tech systems which is a combination of different Thales and external hardware and software products, providing integrated and qualified solutions to our customers. By supporting critical bids, projects and products, you will be involved with multiple internal stakeholders (the product organisation, engineering department, project management etc.) as well as external stakeholders (the customer incl. Government Quality Assurance Representatives – GQAR.
Since we are predominately a design and build organisation, much of your work as QAM will be to coaching/supporting the relevant operational teams in the execution of their tasks by adhering to the relevant processes/governance which eventually raise the maturity of the development processes.
As QAM, you have an independent role and will report to both bid/project and senior management on the operational performance of the teams you are involved in.
The total scope of your portfolio depends on the demand from the organisation and the allocation of resources within the QA team, thereby aiming for both continuity and multi employability as well as the personal development of the QAM’s. The QA team is organized along the product segments of Naval-NL, with a dedicated QA team per segment (Combat Management Systems, Systems, Search Radars, Fire Control.
You may be involved in (transverse) problem solving and Root Cause Analysis applying the inCIght methodologies, audits, internal assessments and other improvement initiatives. Training in tools and practices will explicitly be part of your onboarding program and personal development.
Why you'd be a good match
- A relevant (technical) degree, such as computer science, engineering, business management.
- Profound interest and professional experience in high-tech systems, processes, quality, and the defence domain.
- Previous experience managing or coordinating FATs with customers is highly desirable.
- Experienced (preferably certified) with international standards (ISO9001:2015) and familiar with STANAGs and AQAPs.
- Experienced in the deployment of complicated Quality Management Systems, performing reviews and writing plans.
- Experienced in DDQS process steps.
- An analytical thinker, being flexible and adoptive with a pragmatic and constructive mindset.
- Dynamic and proactive approach, able to perform in high pressure conditions.
- Excellent communication, writing and social skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, virtual and multi-national environment wherein you manage/influence various stakeholders, create (quality) awareness and challenge the status quo.
