The Quality Assurance Manager reports directly to the Construction Region Sr. Quality Manager, with dotted line communication to the Ditch Witch Director of Operations, and provides leadership and direction for the Quality Assurance department. This includes determining actions that support the overall requirements for quality from top management and implementing programs that provide the best quality product in our industry. The Quality Assurance Manager is on the front line of our continuous improvement efforts and must establish and deliver on projects that drive variation and cost out of our product line.
What Will You Do?

Utilize the expertise from the department to attack chronic problems on the factory floor using structured problem-solving methodologies.

First person of contact for the Ditch Witch ISO9001 Quality System Certification and must maintain the certification in good standing.

Determine the appropriate staffing requirements and report to management on the needs and results of the quality department.

Evaluate quality system performance and recommend changes as necessary to support management requirements.

Champion structured problem solving on the factory floor using data from quality audits, equipment pre-delivery inspection forms, and reject ticket information.

Manage personnel in the department to ensure functional capabilities are appropriate and satisfied.

Support the Continuous Improvement efforts to ensure continuing quality improvement across all product lines.

Mentor and coach department employees to assist them in becoming more valuable and productive.

What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Management, Business, or Industrial Engineering preferred or demonstrated equivalent experience.

5-7 years of diverse background in quality systems and manufacturing of products.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role preferably in a similar industry.

Working knowledge of ISO quality systems with lead auditor certification preferred.

Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and ability in 8-Step Problem Solving, team facilitation, and Lean Office and manufacturing methodologies.

Have appropriate working knowledge (or willingness and ability to learn) of SAP business systems.

Be strong in communication, negotiation, motivation, organizational skills, coaching, leading, relating to people, and have a positive “can do” attitude.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Lean principles with 3+ years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
