Job Description

At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta is seeking a Quality Assurance Expert in Budapest, Hungary.

The Quality Assurance Expert exists to safeguard and strengthen quality performance within the region by ensuring consistent application of Quality Management standards across crop production and supply operations. The role translates global QA principles into practical regional execution, enabling risk-based decision-making, regulatory compliance, and sustainable quality outcomes that protect the business and customers.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of regional QMS processes, support internal and external audits, and coordinate timely closure of audit findings and compliance actions.
  • Coordinate non-conformity investigations, corrective actions, customer complaint follow-up, and manage the Product Variance Request (PVR) process to ensure appropriate quality risk control.
  • Support regional Production & Supply risk management processes by identifying quality-related risks, coordinating mitigation actions, and reinforcing governance discipline across sites.
  • Partner with Production, SPR, Logistics, and Commercial teams to integrate quality requirements into seasonal planning and operational decision-making.
  • Track regional quality KPIs, analyse trends, and drive practical improvements to reduce repeat issues and strengthen consistency.
  • Support effective use of digital quality systems (e.g., SAP, Reliance) and promote harmonization of regional practices in line with global QA standards.
  • Strengthen collaboration within the regional quality network and contribute to cross-site sharing of best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Seed Technology, Quality Management, Agriculture, or related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), auditing principles, and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to seed production and operations.
  • Understanding of seed production processes and agricultural supply chain operations, including field production and operational interfaces.
  • Familiarity with quality tools, structured problem-solving approaches, and basic data analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in professional English.
  • Relevant experience in seed operations, agricultural production, or quality assurance environments
  • Experience supporting non-conformity investigations (RCA, CAPA), audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functional boundaries
  • Familiarity with digital systems (e.g., SAP, Reliance, Smartsheet) and basic project coordination practices.
  • Capability to coordinate and support execution of quality initiatives and improvement projects.
