Summary – Reporting to the Manufacturing Quality Manager and operating with minimal supervision, the Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting product and process requirements within a matrixed organization. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functional teams. The Quality Engineer is expected to be a self‑reliant, proactive contributor who demonstrates initiative, takes ownership of assigned responsibilities, and exercises sound judgment in making independent decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support internal and external audits (E 30%):
- Ensure effective planning and completion of internal audits.
- Serve as lead coordinator for assigned audits, working closely with cross functional teams to maintain adherence to AS9100, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Also provide critical support to the Quality Manager during external audits and quality system assessments.
- BMS Document Management (E 30%):
- Support QMS document control activities, including assigning document numbers and routing documents for review, approval, and release.
- Process approved documents for controlled release and maintain accurate version control.
- Maintain and update the Document Management RAIL to track actions, owners, and due dates.
- Corrective Actions Management (E 20%):
- Coordinate the UA Corrective Action program and ensure the process aligns with AS9100 requirements, including validation of effectiveness and timely closure of actions.
- Analyze and process Customer returns and corrective action requests interfacing with customers.
- Generate Quality Metrics for periodic reporting to Quality Management driving root cause corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Complete tasks related to First Article Inspection activity. E 10%
- Complete FAA Conformity activities for product quality as called for in standards and procedures and per regulatory requirements. E 5%
- Complete special projects as assigned. E 5%
Competency – Assist in driving total Quality across all production. Ensure Business Management System requirements are met. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential to carry out this role. Must be self-motivated, committed, and complete work in a timely manner. Effective communication skills are necessary.

Education and/or Experience
- Associates, Bachelors, or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Experience with utilizing ERP or MES preferred.
- Experience utilizing Quality Management Software.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing, Avionics or Aerospace related background.
- Experience working with OEMs or their suppliers.
- Experience working in a matrix organization certified to AS9100 or similar standard.
Computer Skills
The individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency with email, internet and intranet is expected.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before large groups of customer, vendors, or employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Work Environment
Although this is an office-based position, this is an electronic assembly environment that involves no unusual physical risks or hazardous conditions. The type of equipment that must be used includes but is not limited to electronic diagnostic equipment and Automated Inspection Equipment. Protective eyewear and/or smocks are required in some work environments. Electrostatic (ESD) precautions must be taken in this work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
