About Your Business Area/Department:
Reservation is the beating heart of many Amadeus products!
It handles critical steps on trip reservation including booking, ticketing, management of traveler records etc.
Our organization, Reservation, drives these reservation functions for most of Travel Content, such as air, land, sea. We are accountable for our unique reservation platform, used by both by Airlines and Distribution actors.
With the travel industry rapidly changing, Reservation organization is involved in key on-going and new projects at the crossroad of all the business units (e.g. integration of the next generation of distribution interfaces to acquire airline content, enhancing the platform to optimize merchandizing techniques for our customers, etc.). We also recognize technical challenges of our platform’s modernization bringing reservation in the cloud and clustering the platform has already started.
Scrum teams in the reservation team in BOG are responsible for:
- Define, Design, develop and test requirements of the reservation system for one of the major airlines worldwide.
- Provide accurate and on-time critical information about flights/passengers to customs authorities with a global scope.
- work on Car Rental & Transfer provider implementation to connect the provider with Amadeus GDS.
- And more, the team continues growing!
Summary of the role:
As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Amadeus reservation, you´ll responsible for ensuring that the reservation related products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This involves designing and implementing testing procedures, analyzing test results, and working with development teams to identify and resolve issues. The role requires a strong understanding of software development processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Quality Assurance Engineers play a critical role in ensuring that Amadeus delivers products that meet the needs and expectations of its customers.
In this role you’ll:
- Test strategy
- Attend to specification/architecture reviews (also on customer specification reviews when applicable), and provide feedback along with any potential impact, risk, issue, or missed gap based on experience.
- Define test strategy and test plan containing test cases (functional and non-functional), ensure traceability with specifications and customer requirements,
- Ensure compliance of test strategy with CI/CD guidelines, Green IT guidelines and all quality guidelines (SDL, STDL), QA best practices/standards from the industry (ISTQB..),
- Test Expertise
- Design test cases and write test case scripts
- Prepare test environment, test data, and execute test cases
- Provide sign-off (go/no-go) on tested features based on defined exit criteria
- Test automation
- Assess the necessity to automate a subset of (or all) test scripts
- Use test automation framework and contribute to its improvement
- Defect management
- Open defects for software or documentation, assign a relevant level of severity based on the importance of the issue and provide relevant investigation and information in order to fix defects
- Document software defects
- Check defect fix, and give go/no-go for the load of production defects
- Monitor applications and product health
- Reporting
- Report and communicate on test activities to the line organization, software developers, and product definition analysts
- Provide visibility on testing campaigns/milestones to all stakeholders
Quality assurance ambassador
- Show accountability for the project, product, or release quality control
Technicity
- Efficiently use QA tooling stack and frameworks
- Be proactive about any issue/change that is likely to affect your QA peer's daily job
Continuous and sustainable improvement
- Participate in the understanding, measurement, and reduction of the environmental impact of the tested applications and associated QA activities
- About the ideal candidate:
- Experience in software quality assurance
- Strong appetite for a quality engineering role
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task and to work to deadlines
- University degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Computing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postman/SoapUI/RestAssured API testing, API Automation, basic Linux command knowledge, cross-browser and device testing, defect tracking system (Octane preferred)
- Selenium, Swagger/OpenAPI, Git/BitBucket.
- XML, JSON, SQL basics (MySQL and Oracle preferred)
- Good level of autonomy in QA aspects
- Interest in technical projects
- Good relational skills and team spirit
- Professional spoken and written English is required
