The Role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team in the Chicago or Phoenix office. Our QA team is embedded within scrum teams, working side-by-side with Development and Product in a true agile environment. The QA Engineer will create and execute test plans, and ensure a high quality experience for our customers.
The ideal candidate has a passion for quality and testing, a strong understanding of QA best practices, experience with manual and automated testing, is extremely curious, and has a "can-do" attitude. As a QA engineer, you will be responsible for driving customer confidence by assuring the quality of BigTime's current and future products. What you'll Be Accountable For:

  • Guide team in creation of thorough and organized documentation for test cases by clearly articulating test objectives, steps, and expected results
  • Write detailed bug reports that include clear descriptions of the issue with pre-conditions, reproduction steps, screenshots, videos, etc. and expected results
  • Collaborate directly with product managers, UX designers, and software engineers to understand system requirements, use cases, and performance considerations
  • Define, develop, and implement quality assurance practices, procedures, and test cases and test plans
  • Work with the support organization to triage and reproduce customer-reported issues and ensure root causes and not just symptoms are identified and resolved.
  • Perform regression testing (manual and running automated tests) to assure changes to the current release do not adversely affect previously implemented functionality
  • Create automated test cases with mabl
  • Write, debug, and maintain test scripts for positive, negative, and boundary condition cases.
  • Communicate and escalate unacceptable risks to quality with assigned scrum team and management
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and the collection of measures put in place to ensure consistency and improvement in the way we test software and suggest improvements

Who You Are:

  • At least 3-5 years experience in QA
  • Experience in Agile environment and tools like Jira, test case management systems and Confluence and working in multi-location teams
  • Excellent knowledge of the Quality Assurance discipline
  • Comfortable working from the command line to test locally as well as in shared testing environments
  • Good knowledge of HTML (Chrome dev tools, etc), SQL databases (SSMS), and API testing (Postman, Swagger)
  • Experience with low-code test automation frameworks. We use mabl.
  • Comfortable working with integrations to accounting and CRM systems
  • Strong problem solving skills, independent thinking, curiosity
  • Strong teamwork and partnering skills for cross-group collaboration
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills for technical and non-technical audiences
