PTC's Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) team is seeking an Associate Automation Engineer to help build, maintain, and improve automated testing solutions that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who is passionate about software quality, automation, and modern development practices.
Working as part of a collaborative Agile team, you will contribute to test automation frameworks, execute automated test suites, investigate defects, and help drive continuous quality improvements across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web-based and enterprise software applications.
- Execute automated and manual test cases to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and quality engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support the integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze test results and provide clear quality metrics and reporting.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
- Continuously improve test coverage, framework stability, and testing processes.
- Contribute to quality best practices and help promote a quality-first engineering culture.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software development.
- Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of API testing concepts and tools such as Postman.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and containerized environments.
- Interest in software quality engineering and test automation best practices.
