Job Summary: 

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring consistent product quality from incoming material inspection through final production. This role supports quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives by conducting thorough inspections, documenting findings, and collaborating closely with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in quality control for wood-based products, and proficient with Oracle ERP systems. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Inspect incoming materials—including various wood species and substrates of sheet stock  upon delivery to verify conformance with quality and specification standards. 

 

Record and track incoming inspection data using Oracle ERP and maintain appropriate documentation for traceability and compliance. 

 

Perform in-process and final inspections of materials and parts to ensure adherence to quality standards, such as dimensional accuracy, finish quality, and construction standards. 

 

Identify and document non-conformances and work with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions. 

 

Coordinate with suppliers and purchasing staff to address material issues and quality concerns. 

 

Maintain accurate quality records, inspection logs, and reports using both manual and digital systems. 

 

Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action processes to reduce scrap, rework, and customer complaints. 

 

Support training efforts for production staff on quality standards, visual defect recognition, and company policies. 

 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, purchasing, and warehouse to support continuous improvement efforts. 

 

Ensure all quality control processes comply with company standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations. 

 

Qualifications: 

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing, quality, or related field preferred, but not required 

 

Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing setting, ideally with wood assemblies. 

 

Working knowledge of Oracle ERP system for material tracking, receiving, and quality documentation. 

 

Familiarity with wood properties, woodworking techniques, and cabinetry construction standards. 

 

Skilled in using inspection tools such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and moisture meters. 

 

Strong attention to detail, documentation, and analytical skills. 

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). 

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in cross-functional teams. 

 

Working Conditions: 

Split time between manufacturing floor, warehouse receiving area, and office. 

 

Exposure to woodworking environment including dust, noise, and machinery
