Job Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring that products, systems, applications, and business processes meet defined quality standards and business requirements. The role focuses on preventing defects, improving product quality, identifying risks, and ensuring that software solutions deliver an excellent customer experience while complying with organizational, regulatory, and operational standards.
The QA Analyst works closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Solution Architects, and Business Users to validate requirements, execute testing activities, and support successful product releases.

Key accountabilities/Deliverables/Outcomes

Requirements Analysis and Quality Reviews

  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and technical designs.
  • Participate in requirement gathering and solution design sessions.
  • Identify ambiguities, gaps, inconsistencies, and risks in requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are testable and measurable.
  • Provide quality-focused recommendations during product development.

Test Planning and Preparation

  • Develop test plans aligned to project objectives.
  • Design detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Prepare test data and establish test environments.
  • Define entry and exit criteria for testing phases.

Test Execution

  • Execute planned testing activities.
  • Functional Testing
  • System Testing

  • Regression Testing
  • End-to-End Testing
  • User Acceptance Testing support
  • Sanity and Smoke Testing
  • Validate business and technical requirements.
  • Verify product behaviour against expected outcomes.

Defect Management

  • Identify and document defects accurately.
  • Prioritize defects according to business impact.
  • Liaise with development teams regarding defect resolution.
  • Verify defect fixes.
  • Conduct regression testing after fixes.

Quality Assurance Governance

  • Ensure compliance with testing standards and methodologies.
  • Support quality audits and reviews.
  • Participate in release-governance processes.
  • Ensure products meet regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Promote adherence to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes

Automation Testing Support

  • Support development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
  • Execute automation test suites.
  • Analyze automation results.
  • Recommend automation opportunities.
  • Contribute to continuous testing initiatives.

Reporting and Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide regular test progress updates.
  • Report quality risks and issues.
  • Present testing metrics and findings.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and project meetings.
  • Support go-live assessments and release decisions.

Role/person specification

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience testing web-based applications.
  • Experience with mobile application testing.
  • Experience working within Agile environments.
  • Experience in Banking, Fintech, Telecommunications, Insurance, or Digital Products.
  • Experience with test automation tools.
  • Experience with API and integration testing.
  • Experience with cloud-based applications.
