GCG is seeking a Quality Assistant who will be responsible for ensuring that the organization maintains compliance with the internal and external quality standards by conducting training, testing, and leading audits. They will assist in driving the organization’s quality objectives by ensuring that all stakeholders perform duties to the necessary standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Engage and follow up with departments to ensure that audit items are closed.
2. Conduct sensory product evaluation and analytical testing related to chlorine test, quaternary components, and temperature testing.
3. Assist in HACCP audits/inspections of selected departments, divisions, and suppliers/ sub-contractors to ensure specifications are achieved and maintained. Produce reports while ensuring the necessary corrective actions are taken.
4. Collect microbiological swab/ food/ water / ice samples from environmental sites testing for total bacterial counts and interpret/ evaluate results for food safety. Address unsatisfactory results immediately and ensure corrective actions are taken and maintained.
5. Report occurrences of out-of-spec results to the HACCP Manager a timely manner.
6. Create and maintain a documented HACCP Plan specific to the facility and operations. Monitor compliance to SOP and SSOP in accordance with the plan.
7. Evaluate all CCPs CPs, GMPs and pre-requisite programs at all specific areas according to company HACCP Program.
8. Review periodically the Quality and Food Safety of products, services, processes to ensure that our Quality and Food Safety targets are met.
9. Supports additional projects being carried out by the wider Quality department
Qualifications & Skills
• Pursuing a BSc. in Food Science or related field or
• CQE or related quality and food safety certification with
• At least three (3) years experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and HACCP principles
• Experience in the Food industry an asset
• Proficiency in Office 365 Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook
