The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess a foundry process and identify areas of improvement 
  • Asses the Quality control lab to review testing procedures 
  • Follow an Excel tool to review manufacturing processes of a machined part, and complete all items within the checklist with detail
  • Write a report to communicate findings back to the client using the Excel checklist for inputs, including executive summary 
  • Review report and findings in detail in a meeting with client 
  • If required, provide technical input to SQA developed CAPA based on findings from assessment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical, materials science, mechanical or industrial engineering and 3+ years of experience or 15 years of experience in Foundry or mill operations 
  • Knowledge of codes, standards and best engineering practices as applied to mining and milling applications 
  • Strong problem solving, planning, and organizational skills
  • Effective analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of how to determine material configuration and inputs for a foundry process 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SPC and Lean Six Sigma is a plus, specifically Kaizen and process improvement
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and tools for foundry processes
  • Experience in corrective actions and preventative actions development and review
