Job Description

General Summary:

The purpose of this position is to effectively lead and manage department associates to achieve PAC business strategy and departmental goals. This includes full accountability for driving an effective Quality Management System and maintaining relevant registrations (AS9100 and NADCAP). Other duties may be assigned as needed.


This role serves as Management Representative per AS9100D 5.3

Essential Duties: The following is a list of the general duties performed in this position. It is not meant to be an exhaustive list.


  1. Lead assigned departments according to PAC policies, procedures and practices. Assigned departments include: Quality and NDT.
  2. Provide high level input on planning and decision-making related to business strategy, planning, goal setting and execution.
  3. Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing strategies, plans, techniques, processes and procedures for controlling and maintaining the desired level of quality for all parts and services supplied to customers. This begins by establishing and championing an effective Quality Management System.
  4. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a management system that builds employee engagement, performance and enhances PAC’s work culture. This includes Talent Acquisition and Development, Communication, Performance & Behavior Management and Continuous Improvement.
  5. Coordinate with Materials and Production Control to manage the quality of incoming materials as well as ensure the PAC’s outside service providers meet expectations for quality.
  6. Coordinates with Sales, Engineering and Operations to anticipate customer quality concerns and then collaboratively problem solve specific issues.
  7. Coordinate with Engineering on APQP and manage specific assigned areas of responsibility as it relates to process.
  8. Manage the internal auditing system and report on quality system effectiveness.
  9. Manage the calibration system. Serves as Technical Manager for calibration.
  10. Manage the customer and vendor quality liaison process.
  11. Travel to customer or vendor locations.
  12. Performs essential duties of assigned team members as needed.
  13. Comply with all PAC policies.


Qualifications

  1. Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of equivalent professional training and work experience. Applicable professional certification is preferred.
  2. 8 - 12 years successful essential duty related experience in manufacturing, specifically in an aerospace precision machining environment.
  3. 10 years of successful management and leadership experience.
  4. Current and specific knowledge of quality theory, quality systems and quality certifications.
  5. Ability to measure and improve COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality)
  6. Ability to conduct RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) using industry standard best practice, tools and procedures.
  7. Demonstrated high level of business acumen as well as strategic thinking and decision making.
  8. Strong and effective communication skills internally and appropriately with Suppliers and Customers.
  9. Ability to perform advanced math functions.
  10. Excellent computer skills.
  11. Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Primary work environment: Office.
  2. Will need to be able to successfully ambulate throughout the plant, view and manipulate parts as well as operate the quality measurement equipment that PAC has specified.
  3. Successful completion of a medical exam and drug screening required prior to employment at PAC.
