As the Quality and Deployment Lead, you will lead and coordinate quality assurance, release management, deployment planning, and operational readiness across a portfolio of ICT initiatives. You will work closely with project managers, technical teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and operational support teams to ensure solutions are delivered to agreed quality standards and successfully transitioned into production. By establishing robust quality and deployment frameworks, managing release activities, and driving continuous improvement, you will play a key role in delivering reliable, secure, and business-ready technology solutions while supporting successful project delivery and organisational outcomes. This role will be a 6-month contract based on-site in Darwin.


RequirementsWhat You'll Do
  • Lead quality assurance, release management, deployment planning, and operational readiness activities across multiple ICT initiatives.
  • Develop and implement quality management, release, and deployment frameworks, standards, and governance processes.
  • Coordinate release schedules, deployment activities, and environment readiness to ensure successful production implementations.
  • Work closely with project managers, technical teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and operational support teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Facilitate go-live readiness assessments, deployment planning workshops, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics, release status, deployment readiness, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Develop deployment runbooks, release documentation, testing strategies, and operational transition artefacts.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational governance, change management, and operational support requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing, release, deployment, and quality assurance practices across the delivery portfolio.
  • Support business transition activities and provide leadership throughout the deployment lifecycle to minimise operational risk.
What You'll Bring
  • Demonstrated experience leading quality assurance, release management, deployment management, or ICT delivery activities within complex technology environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, change management, release governance, and deployment best practices.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple concurrent releases while managing competing priorities, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience implementing quality frameworks, release processes, deployment standards, and operational readiness practices.
  • Hands-on experience with delivery and governance tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams, business units, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
  • Experience producing governance documentation, executive reporting, deployment plans, quality metrics, and release artefacts.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, ITIL, and modern ICT delivery methodologies.
  • Experience delivering ICT projects within government, highly regulated, or complex enterprise environments will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related discipline.
