Job Description

We’re currently looking for a bright, creative and enthusiastic Qualitative Analyst (equivalent to a Research Executive or Research Manager level) to join our Human Insight team, based in PA’s Farringdon office.
As part of this role, you will be expected to develop a range of skills, which will cover the research and consultant spectrum. A demonstrable passion for brands is also a definite advantage, as is a strong understanding of the digital world.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, supporting with the execution and delivery of qualitative research projects for a wide-range of clients across sectors. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for understanding human behaviour, strong analytical skills, and the ability to think about how to translate what you hear into actionable recommendations for our clients. 
You will gain exposure to all stages qualitative research projects and develop your core skills – from project set-up, to contributing to the research design, fieldwork and analysis and debrief delivery. Projects will involve workshops, interviews, brand strategy analysis, understanding the evolving world of digital and AI, market data analysis and consumer focus groups.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Management: Bring brilliant organisational skills, and a can-do attitude! Support and contribute to the set-up and initial stages of research, such as online community platforms, creation of timing plans, management of diary invitations, logistics for in-person research and session management for online qualitative research sessions.

Research Design and Planning: Collaborate with the research team to input into the design of qualitative research proposals and methods, including focus groups, in-depth interviews (IDIs), ethnographies and online communities. Contribute to the creation of core research documents, including recruitment specs, screeners and discussion guides.

Data Collection and Fieldwork: Attend qualitative research sessions such as focus groups and in-depth interviews (both in-person and remotely) to observe and accurately record participant behaviour and opinions. You should have the desire and confidence to moderate sessions yourself as you gain more experience with these methods. You will also assist with managing ad hoc online communities. You should bring fresh and creative ideas, challenging us as to how we can embrace new methods and engage best with different cohorts of participants.

Data Analysis and Interpretation: Assist with uncovering the key insights from qualitative research sessions, bringing your ideas to download sessions with the internal research team. Help the team to prepare detailed PowerPoint reports and presentations, translating qualitative data into actionable insights and recommendations. Confidently present findings to senior audiences, both remotely and in-person.

Qualifications

You should be qualified in a relevant subject area through either degree education or experience.

Skills/Personal Qualities:

  • A good understanding of commercial qualitative research and different methods, and a desire to learn more
  • A passion for brands and how they market to customers
  • An enthusiasm for working collaboratively as part of an internal team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A can-do, proactive attitude and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Brilliant attention to detail

Two to three years of prior commercial qualitative research experience is essential, either agency or clientside.
