Delta Dental of California is seeking a Senior Quadient Inspire Engineer with a strong IT and software engineering background to join our Customer Communications Management team. This role focuses on customer communication generation, not just document creation.
The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on experience using the Quadient Inspire platform to generate and orchestrate multi-channel customer communications, including documents, emails, reports, and other outbound customer-facing outputs. This role supports high-volume, enterprise communications and requires experience delivering compliant, accessible, and production-grade outputs across multiple formats.
Responsibilities- Architect, design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale customer communication solutions using the Quadient Inspire platform
- Build and support multi-channel customer communications, including:
- Printed and digital document
- Customer emails
- Reports and other system-generated outputs
- Generate and support outputs in multiple industry-standard formats, including: PDF, AFP
- Ensure all customer communications meet ADA accessibility and compliance requirements
- Implement data-driven, reusable communication components using Quadient Inspire modules:
- Inspire Designer
- Inspire Automation / Scalar
- Inspire Interactive
- Content Manager
- Approve Workflow
- Integrate Quadient Inspire with upstream and downstream systems using REST and SOAP APIs
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to define communication requirements, delivery channels, and compliance needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to data, formatting, rendering, accessibility, and performance
- Ensure customer communications comply with security, audit, regulatory, and quality standards
- Participate in SDLC activities including design reviews, testing, releases, and documentation
- Produces complete, simple, and readable technical documentation for everything developed and maintains a team culture of documenting everything
- Tests and ensures quality of all code that developed in line with principles of test-driven development and continuous delivery, utilizing test automation frameworks wherever possible
- Participates in code-reviews, provides technical guidance and mentors software engineers
- Collaborates closely with Engineering leadership, Product Managers, Designers, Test Automation and other teams and business units to define, prioritize, sequence and scope business and functional requirements and drive results.
- Instruments infrastructure and application performance monitoring, capacity management, alerting, tools instrumentation and metrics (KPI) management
- Performs impact assessment of product (hardware, software) upgrades
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
- Quadient Inspire Certifications in the following modules:
- Inspire Designer
- Inspire Scalar
- Inspire Interactive
- 5+ years of professional IT or software engineering experience
- 3+ years of hands-on Quadient Inspire experience in a production enterprise environment
- Proven experience building end-to-end document generation solutions, not just templates
- Strong understanding of data-driven document composition
- Solid programming experience in one or more of the following:
- Groovy Script
- JavaScript
- Python
- Experience working within enterprise IT environments with formal SDLC, QA, and release processes
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of education or degree

- Experience supporting high-volume, customer-facing communications
- Experience with Customer Communications Management (CCM) platforms in regulated industries (insurance, healthcare, financial services)
- Experience with API-based integrations (REST and SOAP)

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
