The eBay Japan strategy team is seeking a Senior Strategy Manager of Qoo10. The candidate will be a creative problem solver and project leader with high levels of intellectual curiosity. They will work with key collaborators from all functions across the organization to build strategies and drive structured and data-based recommendations to action. Within this role, the candidate will have the ability to influence key elements of eBay Japan’s strategy and to help shape the future direction of Qoo10. The ideal candidate has a track record of making pragmatic, actionable recommendations with real world implementation experience.
Job Responsibilities include:
[Strategy development and execution]
- Directly support the company’s top management to develop and implementQoo10’s business strategy and long-term strategic priorities.
- Lead and support strategic projects and facilitate cross-functional teams.
[Business Operations & Analytics]
- Perform strategic analysis and solve problems by using large data sets and insights for our day-to-day operations, various business reports and public information.
[Reporting & communication with eBay’s global partners]
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations with compelling storytelling in Japanese and English.
[Market intelligence]
- Develop insightful market intelligence about key industry trends (technology, competitors, consumers, and so on).
[Strategic partnership]
- Develop successful strategic partnerships by providing research and compelling industry insights.
- Support mergers & acquisitions to find key growth opportunities and drive our business.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's or equivalent experience or master's degree
- 10+ years corporate strategy or similar position, including 3+ years of work experience at a consulting firm, is preferred.
- Fluent level of English and Japanese language skill (reading, writing, speaking) .
- Strong communication skills to lead strategic conversations with diverse counterparties inside and outside the company.
- Be diverse and inclusive, and collaborate with people from widely a diverse group of backgrounds, languages, perspectives, and geographies.
- Capable of juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines and prioritizing opportunities.
- Be self-driven, detail-oriented, and show ability to tackle complicated problems with highly analytical path forward in a dynamic industry and corporate environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in e-commerce/retail, consumer goods, beauty industry or internet services is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of corporate finance and/or statistical analytics.
Please note the followings when applying for eBay Japan's positions:
- We implement hybrid work: It is mandatory for employees to work 3 days/week on-site. WFH is up to 2 days/week. Full remote work option is not available.
- We implement staggered time where employees can vary their start and end times between 7:00 – 10:00 AM and 4:00 - 7:00 PM respectively.
- Foreign nationals must already have the work permit at time of application.
- Must to take background check before joining eBay Japan.
- The compensation will be custom-determined based on the individual's experience.
