THE POSITION:

We are seeking a self-disciplined, well-coordinated, and persuasive professional.

The position of QMHP/Clinical Support Specialist is part of a team, supervised by the Behavioral Health Supervisor in CK Behavioral Health, our behavioral health program. The position engages directly with children, youth, and their parents using nationally recognized, evidence-based and research supported practices to increase well-being and promote positive outcomes. Our program leadership provides training and ongoing coaching to certify Clinical Support Specialists as Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP).

The ideal candidate must be self-disciplined, thorough, and value getting it right. In addition to direct contact with our clients the position is responsible for documentation and adherence to predetermined protocols, policies, and procedures with a high degree of accuracy.

Successful candidates must possess a minimum of a bachelors degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field as specified in the Texas Administrative Code for QMHP qualifications. Also, candidates should possess basic therapeutic skills, verbal, and written communication skills, and organizational skills. Also, candidates should have experience and training in working with individuals with severe and persistent mental Illness, children with severe emotional disturbances, and delivery of services based on curriculum.

All services are provided in person based on the location in the posted ad.

THE PROGRAM:

CK Behavioral Health seeks to provide the highest level of quality mental and behavioral health services to children, youth, and their parents/caregivers. We utilize several nationally recognized, evidence-based and research supported practices to increase skills that promote well-being, enhance stability, and prevent disruption. Our clients are typically those who are in or have been in the foster care system in Texas; however, we also serve clients who do not have affiliation with foster care and who are covered by Medicaid.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field as specified in the Texas Administrative Code for QMHP qualifications
  • Eligibility or ability to become certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
  • Basic therapeutic skills and experience delivering evidence-based interventions
  • Experience and training working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and children with severe emotional disturbances
  • Experience delivering services based on curriculum
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Personal qualities: self-discipline, coordination, and persuasiveness
