Your role at a glance
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) Manager to oversee and implement comprehensive quality management systems for our data centre construction projects across the APAC region. The successful candidate will ensure all construction activities meet or exceed quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements while maintaining project schedules and budgets.What we are looking for
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust QAQC programs for data centre construction projects throughout the APAC region.
- Create and update quality management plans, inspection procedures, and testing protocols specific to data centre construction.
- Lead quality assurance reviews during design phases to identify potential issues before construction begins.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and local building codes.
- Coordinate with project teams to establish quality checkpoints and verification processes at critical construction milestones.
- Identify non-conformances and deficiencies, and work with construction teams to implement effective corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation systems, including test results, inspection reports, and compliance certificates.
- Provide regular quality performance reporting to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Train project personnel on quality requirements and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement of quality processes based on lessons learned and industry developments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the global Quality program to meet the APAC regional requirements while maintaining consistent quality and compliance across data centre projects.
- Validate contractor and vendor quality programs, ensuring alignment with Owner requirements.
- Able to work independently and efficiently in a remote/hybrid capacity. Ideally located in Singapore.
Knowledge and Attributes:
- Understanding of Project Management, Planning, Construction Management, and Data Centers.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in dealing with Owners, Architects, Contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Extensive knowledge of prime contracts including lump sum, GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price), hard bid, negotiated, design-build, etc. Specifically including EVM methods and payment systems.
- Extensive knowledge of P6 Critical path scheduling systems, overall project cost control, budgeting, and value engineering as applied to buildings and systems used in Data Center project delivery.
- Familiarity of all aspects of Development design and Construction- to include site work, core, and shell, mechanical and electrical, utilities, finishes, etc.
- Ability to work in an international team environment and interact with all levels of management, including C-Suite reviews.
- Strong executive presence – able to convey complex and technical concepts to a non-construction audience.
- Must be highly organized, analytical, and structured with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Manage stress and/or fast pace effectively.
- Fluent English communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, as this role requires clear and effective coordination with international stakeholders and technical teams across the APAC region
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, mechanical, electrical engineering or related technical field.
Required Experience:
Minimum Qualifications :
- 8+ years of experience in construction quality management, with at least 3 years specific to data centre or mission-critical facilities.
- Demonstrated experience implementing quality management systems across multiple projects and locations within the APAC region.
- Thorough understanding of construction methodologies, materials testing, and quality control procedures.
- Strong knowledge of international and regional quality standards (ISO 9001, etc.) and building codes relevant to data centres.
- Proven ability to evaluate and select qualified contractors, specialty trades, and technical vendors based on quality performance criteria.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to identify quality issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong communication skills with ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent English communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, as this role requires clear and effective coordination with international stakeholders and technical teams across the APAC region.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and implement global quality standards and methodologies to meet unique APAC regional requirements while maintaining consistent quality and compliance across international data centre operations.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the APAC region (approximately 25%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional engineering license or relevant certifications (PE, CxA, DCEP, etc.).
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Experience with hyperscale data centre environments.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations across APAC markets.
- Experience with green building certifications (LEED, Green Mark, NABERS, etc.).
- Multilingual capabilities relevant to APAC region.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly walk, climb, and navigate construction sites with uneven terrain and multiple levels.
- Capacity to work in hot, humid tropical conditions.
- Ability to wear required PPE (hard hats, safety boots, etc.) for extended periods.
- Visual and hearing acuity sufficient for detailed inspections and communication in noisy environments.
- Tolerance for working in environments with dust, noise, and occasionally at heights.
Work Conditions and Other Requirements:
- Work at different time zone, mostly in APAC time zone
- Travel extensively throughout the APAC region (approximately 25%).
- Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.
