Reporting to the QA Manager, Commercial Technologies,  the QA Test Analyst, Mobile Systems provides support for systems that make up the Digital Guest and Resident Experience ecosystem including our Four Seasons Mobile App, Tablet App, Chat, In-room dining, Mobile Key, Request Management and Concierge platforms to ensure the quality of releases and technology upgrades. This role will support the quality assurance needs as the Mobile platforms grow in capability and feature-set to support new lines of business including Private Jet and Yacht.

The primary duties of this role are ownership of all User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Quality Assurance (QA) for the Mobile and Tablet Apps and all its features, the management all test cases and content within our TestRail account and verifying Mobile app integration and system outages through end-to-end testing. The role will be responsible for verifying release impacts on all digital features and services used by Hotel Guests and Residential Homeowners when they interact with our mobile platforms in our test environments prior to production release. The role will also assist the team with post deployment smoketesting on Production environments.

This role is based in Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Toronto Corporate Office, reporting to the QA Manager, Commercial Technologies. This role involves interactions with primarily internal stakeholders at various levels.

What You’ll Be Doing

Quality Assurance of Mobile and Tablet Apps:

  • Write and maintain a catalog of relevant and accurate test cases in TestRail

  • Write and maintain a list of user personas for testing

  • Write and maintain a list of user journeys and workflows

  • Assign test cases to testers, team user management within TestRail

  • Engage with Product Owners for awareness on new feature releases, and propose expansion of existing test cases to cover new functionality

  • Review and generate report summaries of Mobile Apps performance monitoring logs, identifying areas of degraded performance and their cause components

  • Review and suggest enhancements to build out new capabilities for load testing and application monitoring improvements

  • Work closely with QA Manager, Commercial on QA processes and in deploying tools and software for recurring automated testing with scripts where applicable

  • Conduct exploratory testing to identify undocumented and new issues across all components for the Mobile Apps

  • Engage with the IT Digital Support Specialist to receive feedback on reported tickets related to the Mobile and In-room tablet apps

  • Make recommendations for product improvements

Functional and User Acceptance Testing:

  • Work closely with Product Owner to define criteria for success

  • Conduct thorough testing of the UX, UI and data flow through backend systems for the Mobile and Tablet Apps

  • Conduct new feature QA prior to Mobile and Tablet app releases to ensure the software is error-free

  • Conduct device testing to ensure cross-device and OS operability of the Mobile and Tablet Apps

  • Conduct content testing to ensure content displaying in the app are relevant to the hotel and/or residential locations and is up to date

  • Identify and log defects based on their severity for prioritization and raising for development

Regression Testing:

  • Conduct end-to-end regression testing using multiple personas across the Mobile and Tablet ecosystems within the release cycle timeframes

  • Conduct additional rounds of regression tests as needed when a new test build version is made available with bug fixes

  • Compile documentation of reports and software issues to share with Product Owner and Manager, Mobile Systems

  • Report regression test findings to Manager for sign-off and approvals prior to release

  • Provide sign-off on regression tests, assuring the software passes all regression test cases and is release ready

Technical Skillset:

  • Basic understanding of Programming languages – Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python, Kotlin (depending upon IOS/Android)

  • Test and documentation Management tools – Jira, Test rail, Confluence

  • Technical knowledge on one of test automation frameworks – Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Detox

  • IDE knowledge – XCODE (IOS) and Android Studio / Emulator Knowledge (IOS/Android)

  • Basics of Devops & CI/CD tool knowledge – GIT, GITLAB, JENKINS, GRADLE, MAVEN, GITHUB, Groovy.

  • Technical knowledge on one of the Cloud browser testing platforms – Browser stack, AWS Farms, Sauce labs

  • Understanding of iOS and Android Operating systems

  • Test automation scripts, tools and processes

  • Social Messaging platforms and integrations

  • Atlassian suite: JIRA, Confluence

  • Experience or knowledge of Hotel & Residential operations and Hotel IT function

  • Strong technical writing skills and experience

  • Intermediate experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices, laws and compliance requirements

What You Bring

  • 2-3 years working in a Quality Assurance testing role.

  • Experience identifying, logging and troubleshooting software defects. Proficiency using TestRail, Confluence and JIRA and Customer Service are desirable skills.  Knowledge of software testing and QA standards.

  • College or University diploma in computer science, technology or relevant certifications.

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario #LI-Hybrid
