Quality Assurance SpecialistPosition SummaryThe Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining RMT’s commitment to excellence by ensuring products meet both customer specifications and internal quality standards. This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance. This position is a weekend night position.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to determine product requirements, including material type, dimensions, and surface finish
- Perform precise measurements (length, height, spacing, and alignment) to verify products meet required tolerances and specifications
- Conduct surface finish inspections and hardness testing to ensure product quality and durability
- Inspect first-run and in-process parts to identify defects and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Set up, calibrate, and operate inspection equipment to maintain measurement accuracy
- Document and communicate inspection results, including nonconformances, to the Quality Assurance Supervisor
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement efforts
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
- Experience using inspection tools and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles
- Strong communication skills and the ability to report findings clearly

Competencies
Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers and common decimals and fractions. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills – Ability to operate Windows based software programs.
Minimum Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
