The Engineering team at Energy Vault is dedicated to advancing the company's innovative energy storage solutions, playing a critical role in creating cutting-edge energy technologies, and transforming innovative concepts into operational energy storage systems. By integrating advanced R&D with robust practices, the Technology team drives the development of sustainable energy storage solutions, supporting the global transition to renewable energy.


You will work closely with Energy Vault Solutions, a division within Energy Vault, which is dedicated to delivering customer-focused energy storage products that merge Battery and Clean Hydrogen technologies. The Energy Vault Solutions team also develops and manages our AI/ML powered software applications that include EMS, Lifecycle Management, and Energy Trading Platforms.


Your Impact as a Site Quality Engineer (Senior to Principal):

The Site Quality Engineer leads and manages field quality assurance and engineering activities for energy storage projects. This role ensures that all field engineering and quality processes are executed efficiently, meet regulatory and safety standards, and align with the project’s and company's goals. You act as the primary liaison between the field operations, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

 

6-month contract with potential to extend or conversion to full-time.

Your Mission:

  • Quality Assurance:
  • Develop and implement field quality assurance (QA) procedures and standards to ensure project compliance with industry regulations or best practices.
  • Conduct field inspections and audits to monitor the quality of work performed by field teams.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues by coordinating with engineering and field teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Engineering Management:
  • Lead efforts to address design or engineering issues identified during project construction and commissioning phases.
  • Collaborate with project management, design and product teams to ensure that field engineering solutions are practical, cost-effective, and meet customer requirements.
  • Review and approve field engineering plans, designs, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Project Management:
  • Oversee field projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution of field activities.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting any risks or issues.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure that all field operations adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, ensuring that the company remains compliant.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding field quality and engineering matters.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to customers, addressing any concerns related to quality or field performance.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in field operations and engineering practices.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve the quality of construction & field testing. 

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical or Civil) or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, quality assurance, or project management
  • 1+ years of PV or BESS project experience
  • Deep knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, engineering standards, and industry regulations
  • Proven experience in managing field operations
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of engineering principles relevant to BESS projects, field operations, and quality assurance practices
  • Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in the field
  • Willingness to travel extensively (100% of the time) - first site, Snyder, TX
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, if required
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, rapid-growth environments
