About the Role
IANS is looking for a QA/QC Engineer Consultant to help us strengthen quality across our applications. You’ll lead the setup of automated and manual testing for web apps and APIs built in Next.js, Node.js, .NET (C#), and Python, deployed on Azure with GitHub CI/CD. This is a one-year, full-time consulting engagement with the possibility of extension.
What You’ll Do
- Build and run automated tests (frontend, backend, and APIs).
- Set up smoke and regression suites in CI/CD pipelines.
- Expand coverage for key user journeys and critical services.
- Partner with engineers to add unit and integration tests.
- Drive defect triage and release readiness reporting.
- Support performance and accessibility testing as needed.
Success in This Role
- 30 days: Smoke tests running in CI/CD.
- 60 days: Coverage for top user flows + APIs.
- 90 days: Stable CI/CD checks and release reports in use.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years in software QA with test automation experience.
- Skilled with Playwright or Cypress for frontend testing.
- Strong API testing background (pytest, Postman, or similar).
- Able to work with JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and Azure services.
- Strong documentation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Solid grasp of SDLC/Agile, defect lifecycles (Jira), and risk-based testing.
Nice to Have
- Contract testing, performance testing, accessibility automation.
- Docker and cloud testing environments.
