Job Summary We are looking for a highly skilled QA/QC Engineer specializing in Rotating Equipment to support quality assurance and quality control activities during the upcoming shutdown/turnaround. The QA/QC Engineer will ensure all inspection, maintenance, installation, and overhaul work on rotating equipment complies with SABIC standards, project specifications, and international quality requirements. The role requires strong technical expertise in rotating machinery and proficiency in documentation and inspection protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement QA/QC procedures specifically for rotating equipment during shutdown activities.

  • Conduct inspection and verification of rotating machinery, including pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, gearboxes, agitators, and motors.

  • Monitor dismantling, maintenance, overhauling, and reassembly processes to ensure compliance with SABIC specifications.

  • Review and verify equipment history, calibration certificates, maintenance records, and inspection test plans (ITPs).

  • Ensure precision alignment, bearing replacement, balancing, and vibration-related tasks meet quality standards.

  • Verify clearances, tolerances, and measurements during reassembly and record all critical readings.

  • Issue NCRS (Non-Conformance Reports), propose corrective actions, and ensure timely closure.

  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, planners, and vendor representatives to ensure inspection readiness.

  • Witness functional tests, run tests, and performance checks before mechanical completion.

  • Ensure proper documentation, including inspection reports, punch lists, QA/QC dossiers, and final handover files.

  • Participate in daily coordination meetings and provide updates on quality status and inspection progress.

  • Enforce SABIC safety and quality guidelines throughout all rotating equipment activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5-8 years of QA/QC experience in rotating equipment within petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial environments.

    • Prior shutdown/turnaround experience with SABIC or similar clients is highly preferred.

  • Preferred Certifications:

    • SABIC-approved QA/QC or Maintenance Certification.

    • API certifications (e.g., API 610 for pumps, API 618/617 for compressors).

    • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.

    • ASNT Level II (for vibration/inspection-related activities).

    • Aramco/SABIC Work Permit Holder.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-8 years QA/QC experience in rotating equipment within petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial environments.
  • Prior shutdown/turnaround experience with SABIC or similar clients.
