Primary responsibility:
- People Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of growth and development.
- Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and support career progression.
- Recruit, hire, and retain talent.
- Implement and measure quality metrics
- Own test planning and readiness
- Support release readiness
- Oversee the evolution of test automation frameworks
- Ensure appropriate balance of automated and manual testing
- Drive adoption of best practices
- Stay current with QA trends and tooling
- Act as the voice of quality in leadership discussions
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Product Owners
- Contribute to capacity planning
- Advocate for early QA involvement in product and technical design
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience managing QA engineers across multiple Agile product teams, ideally in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
- Strong foundational experience as a hands-on QA or test automation engineer, with a deep understanding of both manual and automated testing strategies.
- Proven expertise in quality engineering practices such as test automation, CI/CD integration, risk-based testing, release readiness, defect triage, and root cause analysis.
- Experience defining and driving QA strategy across teams, including alignment on testing scope, tooling, and processes, in close collaboration with Engineering and Product counterparts.
- Deep understanding of iOS and Android operating systems and platform-specific requirements (e.g., App Store and Google Play guidelines).
- Proficiency in mobile app testing — including UI, UX, functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing — across real devices and simulators/emulators.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and lead quality initiatives across multiple teams, balancing short-term release goals with long-term quality improvements — even in high-pressure or ambiguous situations.
- Track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing QA engineers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Good level of English (B2 or higher).
- Experience with Analytics, Marketing tools (e.g. Amplitude, Kochava, Braze, Crashlytics)
