Performs a wide variety of inspections and record-keeping tasks. The objective is to ensure that the established quality systems are in place to ensure safe and high-quality finished products.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect the finished product at a 24-hour check to ensure that all critical parameters have been met.
- Ensure both physical and chemical inventories are maintained.
- Ensure the cleanliness and housekeeping of the lab.
- Review the paperwork packet from the previous production day to ensure good documentation practices, legibility, and completeness are adhered to and that all critical parameters were met.
- Perform daily calibration of lab instrumentation.
- Remain alert to unusual conditions that could cause losses for our company.
- Work in cooperation with other departments to identify and solve problems that relate to production and storage.
- Maintain firm control over and thoroughly investigate held goods.
- Strive to identify the root causes of errors or defects and keep accurate records, which will assist in the effective follow-up and correction of recurring problems.
- Coordinate rework and release of held goods with production and inventory control.
- Maintain inventory of lab and office supplies as well as order supplies.
- Fill unit sample orders and coordinate case shipments with shipping/repack when required – limited function.
- Cooperate with the rest of the QA staff to perform needed lab and clerical duties, as required (backup) – QA Inspector, Raw Materials Inspector.
- Serves as a backup line QA tech of up to two lines at a time.
- Serves as trainer for specified duties in QA and Safety. Responsible for the scheduling of QA techs to ensure QA coverage on the lines.
- Responsible for coordinating QA activities in the lab and on the lines.
- Responsible for ensuring food safety in all aspects and, if necessary, reporting food safety problems out of his/her realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
- HACCP team member.
- Primary responsibility for the environmental program.
- Ensure the ATP and regular swabs schedule is up to date.
- Responsible for ensuring weighing of Capsicum for the scheduled production run is completed and set for production use.
- Responsible for new employee qualification on chemistry testing.
- Responsible for the annual gluten-free testing verification.
- Ensure samples are sent out, the product is kept on hold, and results are complete as expected.
- Responsible for the retention samples evaluation and follow-up actions, if needed.
- All other duties as required.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range:
$18.65 - $31.09Final base pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to; role responsibilities, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and/or internal pay equity. Please keep in mind that we consider internal pay equity and hiring at the maximum of the salary range uncommon.
