QA Lead

As a QualDev Lead at Aeris, you will assume a leadership role in ensuring the quality and performance of our automotive cloud connectivity systems. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of talented QualDev Engineers, providing guidance and expertise in creating JMeter scripts for API testing, load testing, and performance testing. In this role, you will leverage your automation skills and development background to drive the enhancement of the overall testing framework. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, overseeing the seamless integration of vehicles with the cloud, utilizing technologies such as REST endpoints, MQTT/AMQP for message transmission, Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Java with Spring Boot for microservices, and Kubernetes for deployment. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to execute JMeter scripts as Jenkins jobs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of QualDev Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Design, develop, and execute complex JMeter scripts for API testing, load testing, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automotive systems with the cloud.
• Drive the enhancement of the testing framework by leveraging automation and integrating it with the existing CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify bottlenecks and performance issues through in-depth analysis of test results.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues with scripts, applications, and infrastructure components.
• Deliver accurate and meaningful reports on test results, highlighting potential areas of improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques related to API testing and performance testing.
• Lead the adoption of best practices and methodologies to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Automation Tester or similar position, with a strong focus on writing JMeter scripts.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably as a Team Lead or Engineering Manager.
• Strong development skills, including expertise in Java and Spring Boot for backend services.
• In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs, messaging protocols such as MQTT and AMQP, Kafka, and Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, fostering effective teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the automotive industry or with IoT projects involving vehicle connectivity.
• Proven knowledge of performance testing tools and techniques beyond JMeter, such as Gatling or Apache Bench.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform or similar platforms.
• Understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
