Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our SaaS platform. This role combines hands-on manual testing with test automation development and requires close collaboration with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams.
The ideal candidate embraces a "Shift-Left" testing approach, actively participating throughout the software development lifecycle to identify defects early and improve overall product quality. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, executing comprehensive testing strategies, and supporting continuous delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation & Quality Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Playwright.
- Create and execute API test suites using Postman and Newman to validate backend services and integrations.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software releases.
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and testing documentation.
- Monitor automation coverage, test execution results, and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Manual & Exploratory Testing
- Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and smoke testing for new and existing features.
- Validate user workflows, edge cases, and system behavior across various scenarios.
- Conduct cross-browser and responsive web application testing.
- Execute targeted manual testing for high-risk features, integrations, and media processing workflows.
Agile Collaboration & Defect Management
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, requirement reviews, and design discussions to identify quality risks early.
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure testability and quality are embedded within the development process.
- Investigate, reproduce, document, and track defects through to resolution.
- Provide clear and actionable feedback to stakeholders regarding product quality and release readiness.
Security & Compliance
- Support security testing initiatives by collaborating with DevOps and Security teams.
- Work with automated security scanning tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, Aikido, or equivalent solutions.
- Ensure testing processes and documentation align with compliance requirements, including SOC 2 standards where applicable.
- Assist in validating system security, data protection, and access control requirements.
Requirements
Must-Have Technical Skills (Hands-On Experience)
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
- Strong experience with Playwright for UI test automation.
- Hands-on experience with Postman and API testing methodologies.
- Proven experience in executing smoke testing, functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and exploratory testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
Additional Requirements
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration.
- Experience with Git version control and Agile development practices.
- Good understanding of web technologies, REST APIs, and modern software architecture.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes of issues.
