Quality Engineers at Sendbird ensure the reliability and performance of our products by applying strong engineering principles to testing, collaborating closely with development teams, and implementing robust test automation and performance testing practices. As a QE, you will not only execute and improve test coverage but also drive quality initiatives, manage internal and external teams, and influence quality standards across the organization. You will play a key role in strengthening our testing strategy, optimizing test efficiency, and elevating the overall software development lifecycle.

What you will do

  • Create user-centric test scenarios, test cases, and test plans, and perform functional, non-functional, and performance testing across web and mobile platforms.
  • Analyze and track issues to resolution, reviewing requirements and technical documents to provide early, engineering-focused feedback.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests and frameworks, integrate them into CI pipelines, and introduce tools that improve test scalability and efficiency.
  • Manage test environments, equipment, monitoring tools, and internal QA documentation.
  • Lead QE projects, coordinate testing activities, and ensure consistency in engineering-driven quality standards and practices.
  • Establish and improve QE policies, processes, and prioritization criteria aligned with Sendbird’s standards; continually drive productivity, efficiency, and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and PMs to shift testing left and embed quality earlier in the development process.
  • Communicate effectively in English with global team members, conduct meetings, and handle team-related responsibilities such as performance reviews, training, and staffing.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quality and performance-related data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Who you are

  • QE professional with 7+ years of experience in SaaS product quality engineering, with solid knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and software quality processes.
  • Skilled in Web, iOS, and Android testing, with a background in computer science or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experienced in test automation using Swift, Kotlin, Python or JavaScript, and familiar with CI systems such as CircleCI or GitHub Actions; capable of extending frameworks and contributing to engineering workflows.
  • Proficient in Jira, Slack, Confluence, and other collaboration and workflow tools.
  • Capable of leading QE projects and teams, including managing external tester teams and defining test strategies, technical priorities, and quality direction.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills for collaborating with global teams and conducting team-related discussions.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive, with strong ownership and the ability to work across engineering functions to drive process and quality improvements.
  • Experienced in analyzing and documenting evidence data, performance metrics, and test results, using them to align cross-functional teams and propose technical strategy and direction.

Flexible Work Policy

We offer a flexible work schedule at Sendbird.  We also value collaboration and relationship building.  With those values in mind, we require all employees to gather with their team in the office three days per week as a minimum.  Some of our roles require a more frequent in-office schedule.  Please work with your manager to understand the office time requirements for your position.
